Fade

The cut that goes from longer on top to shorter at the bottom, with no hard line between the lengths. It works on straight, wavy or curly hair.

How to ask for it

  • Low, mid or high: where the shortest length starts

  • Skin fade: goes down to the skin at the bottom, finished with a razor

  • Show a photo of the look you want and Asael will say what your hair can do

What happens in the chair

  1. 01
    5 min

Step 1: We talk it through

You say how you want it and show a photo. Asael looks at how your hair grows and which guard suits it.

  2. 02
    15 min

    Step 2: The base

Clippers, with the longest guard on top and the shortest at the bottom.

  3. 03
    15–20 min

    Step 3: The blend

He steps the guards up and down until you can't see where the length changes. On a skin fade, the razor finishes it.

  4. 04
    5–10 min

    Step 4: The finish

Edge-up, sideburns and neck. He shows you the result from the front and the back with a hand mirror.

People who keep a fade up usually book again every two to three weeks.

About fades

Can you fade curly hair?

Yes. Tell Asael how it sits when it is dry and he will choose the guards to match.

How long does a fade last?

A clean fade usually looks sharp for two to three weeks, depending on how fast your hair grows.

Do I need to wash my hair first?

Clean, dry hair is easiest to work with, but come as you are. Asael will sort the rest.
